WTFaq

an
informational
site
Formerly known as phpWTF, WTFaq system is a community run faq generation system. Many forums and wikis are being used as help systems, but this presents many problems. It can be arcane to maintain a help system purely through a wiki based system. All the same problems with a wiki: who gets to edit it, who gets to create pages, etc. All the known risks if the help wiki is open to edit by everyone. Yet what is the point of having a wiki only a few can edit? Also, think of all the ridiculous personal problems that go along with forums and wikis. Edit wars, flaming, etc. It might not look good for your company.
There should be a way to balance control and community involvement in a help system. That's where WTFaq comes in. The system is designed specifically to answer questions. Besides technical path and database configuration, there is really no required configuration. Just unzip and go. Yet when desired it can be configured usefully for a specific context, such as a help system for an IT department, or website FAQ.
Very efficient moderation is built-in from the start.
Also, don't forget to have an unhappy birthday!
